Lime @ Parkroyal Pickering

Was supposed to head for Restaurant Week at Lime for steak and foie gras, but after looking at the buffet line up, I decided to have The buffet rather than the restaurant week. No regrets!

The variety was quite decent I have to say. Asian corner with noodles, Malay, Indian and Chinese and ohhhhh a chef that cooks your vegetables imprint of you! It's a vege corner where u pick whatever vege u want and the chef cooks it infront of u!

Heading to the raw.... the salmon sashimi and oysters were great! Fresh too! Salad section was good just that the cheese section was rather small.
The best was the.... dessert section!! Was big and tasted great!
Service was great too! We asked for a particular dessert to be topped up and when they did, they came to our table first to serve it to us!
Great attitude, good service and very nice place!

7/10

Pictures from Restaurant week below.
The dessert was TDF! Awesome!
Reminded me of Patisserie G's G Spot cake though.

Chock Full of Beans

Finally made my way down to this hidden gem in the far east.
Would seldom travel so far to the end, but for this place..... YES!

Indeed a gem. Had brunch and coffee and was rather surprised by the wonderful meal I had!
Coffee was good to look at and good to taste!
All senses spiked up! Sense of sight, sense of taste and sense of smell! Yummmmz!

They surprised me with sanrio coffee art in my yummy flat white. I have to say after trying out flat white at many places, this place is on par with "Coffee Daily" and "Providore".
No sugar, just a simple flat white and the taste was justtttttt nice :)

Had a plate of the usual big breakkie and one set with rosti, eggs and sausages!
I love rosti and I love the variation! Not many places serve rosti! Usually just eggs ben and the usual big breakkie.

But don't come too late, there's definitely a queue to this place! (Of course right... when It's soooo good!)

till the next blog!

Rabbit Carrot Gun

Heavy down pour today!!!
After months of No rain... it finally rained at many areas today!
Praise the Lord! ↖(^▽^)↗

So on this rainy day, had brunch at Rabbit Carrot Gun. Wanted to head to GRUB but due to the weather, decided to give it a miss.
Place is rather nice and kinda filled with ang mohs. Guess It's the area. And I guess due to this, they do not serve CHILLI SAUCE. Darn.

So how's the food and drinks......
I'd say for the price, I'd rather head else where.
We both had the gamers keeper Which is the full American Breakfast.  We had one set with scrambled eggs and one poached.
Scrambled eggs were not too bad.. but the poached was quite bad. It was hard.... like nearing hard boiled. Not much of oozing going on like what It's supposed to be. Upset.

Ordered a large cuppa coffee with extra shot and it was quite blend. I can relli tell cos I usually have double shot flat white and many places serve it well. The late art was also bad. Like it got kinda messed up and didn't know how to continue. =[

So basically, the experience wasn't all that good. Missed my brunch at chock full of beans: (

Would rate it 2/5.
Not going back!

The "latte art" for my flat white.

The poached or should I say half to hard boil egg.

back to the kitchen!

Mun can cook series come again!
This time round..... some spicy feast!
OK... not veryyyyyy spicy la.

Curry Chicken
Sambal Prawns with Quail Egg
Sambal Kangkong

Wanted to make my own curry and Sambal paste but had to make do as I didn't have a blender or Pestle and mortar but of course, enhancements need to be made as "instant" is always zzzzzzzzz....
Anyway marinated chickens the way my Mum always does it to give the flavour for about 30mins before saute-ing the chix with the spices. Got the necessary spices like cinnamon, cloves, fennel and etc so the curry will smell and taste yumz!
So in goes the chix, adding curry paste and water once ready and left to cook. Once ready, add in coconut milk and tomatoes/ boiled potatoes and cook for another 15mins.
Fwala! All done!!

As for the sambal prawns, added quail eggs like what Mummy always does for me!
Wasn't too hard to cook and not much prep needed for this dish, so it complemented the curry dish Which needed more prep.

All in all, didn't take too long to cook and prepare. Started at 5+6 and ate around 8!
No late dinners anymore!
Not good, not good at all!

Yummy dinner!

Hatter Street

Hougang is no longer your boring street.
Next to Nakhon (famous for It's good Thai food), opens two new shops Knuckles and Hatter Street!
Surprise surprise! It's either I'm damn slow or really the new kid on the block, cos I've never noticed the two new shops.

Had Nakhon for dinner and I just HAD to try out Hatter Street. The cafe is just so...... ME!!!
Love everything about it!
It's casualness, It's qwerkiness, It's pink and all sortsa pretty colours.... everything!
Could tell that It's a small family set up as the family members were all helping around serving and at the cashier. Coolness! Dad was also friendly!
OK.... I assume It's the Dad. LOL! Forgive my ignorance if I got it wrong ╮(╯_╰)╭

Anyway, now Lets get to the MAIN thing here, the food!

Matcha Cake
Awesome. I love green tea but I'm not a green tea cake person when it comes to dessert cos I like it sweet. But ordered it Anyway and didn't regret it.
Only thing is that It's rather small.
The cake was light and not too sweet Which is what my tastebuds prefer these days. Not too powdery with matcha powder so I loved it.
I gobbled it in....... less than 5mins!
And I wasn't having a good stomach! Imagine that.....

Couldn't resist so we ordered a waffle after the cake.

Waffle with pandan ice cream and gula melaka

Another awesome creation! This sounded new so I decided to try this instead of the normal vanilla ice cream and again, wasn't left disappointed.
Pandan ice cream was ubber yumz and wasn't "jelak " and the gula melaka syrup drizzled fitted nicely with the whole taste.
Cheers to successful creativity!

Will definitely be back to try more cakes!!
can't wait!! ↖(^▽^)↗

4/5

Away with the old and here comes the new!

And for the next 6 months, you're here to stay!!
Out goes the old and hope the new is here to stay!
And so far............ I'M LOVING IT! ↖(^▽^)↗
Thank you DRx for saving my skin!!
FYI, this is definitely not a paid advert!
Truly awesome!

° E!ght Korean BBQ °

To sum this whole experience without even starting -- It's simply music to my tastebuds, honey to the bees! YUMMMMMMIEST!

Had the 4 colour pork belly and the beef short ribs but felt the pork belly was yummier. Maybe It's cos it was all nicely marinated: ) We had the wine, garlic, curry and miso and I had to say it was a tough decision to choose Which was the nicest. But I thought the Miso was the nicest! Fully flavoured and not too salty! Darn..... can taste that lingering flavour on my tongue now. *gulppppppp*

4 colour set @ $58
8 colour set @ $98

The beef ribs fared well too! Fats evenly saturated, fresh and tender!

Also had the seafood strew Which was also awesome! Very authentic taste I have to say. Forgot how much the stew was but it should have been about $20+.

Seriously....  I've no complains about this place (other than the smell of BBQ ) so I can tell you, I'll definitely be back for more!!

Ubbbber yummy!

4.5/5

My DRX experience!

I finally did it!
Got my nose and eye filler!

Went to DRX as they had this promo of $1.4k for 2 syringes.
So you can either do two areas, or just do one area and keep the syringe for another 6months.
So that was how I decided to get my eye filler done at the same time!
Seriously..... no regrets!
Simply no regrets to my visit to DRX!

Dr Yanni Xu was my appointed doctor and she's rather chatty and friendly. She helped keep me comfortable throughout the procedure Which was relli good! Only bad thing was that she didn't really advice much about my face condition when I asked about my pores. Well, hopefully in three weeks time when I go back she'll advice more on my "strawberry nose".

At the same time, I'm trying out their skincare and for the next 6 months, I'll be using their skincare and no others!! So far I'm loving how my skin is without make up!  Let's see how it goes after 6months! Ooohhh I hope 1 month would be enough! LOL ↖(^▽^)↗
