Bake time has resumed over the weekend!!
Wooootz!
Finally got my hands on baking Nutella Blossoms for a friend's 1mth old baby.
Found this recipe online (apam polkadot) and all was good but felt that the packaging could have been better.
Let's start with the recipe!
*Nutella Blossoms*
Ingredients:
3eggs
275g flour
220g caster sugar
150ml milk
3tsp baking powder
1tsp ovalette
Recipe doesn't call for vanilla but I added 11/2 tsp vanilla extract for flavour
Fillings: you can choose Nutella, nice berry, strawberry jam, up to you actually. In my case I'm using Nutella today.
Colours of your choice
Steps:
1. Sift flour and baking powder and put aside.
2. Beat eggs, sugar and ovalette till pale.
3. Add in flour mixture and mix well.
4. Divide into portions and mix colours.
5. Put all colours into piping bags including Nutella.
6. Fill 1/3 cupcake base with colour mixture.
7. Add Nutella.
8. Fill cup with colour mixture again.
9. Now let your creative juices flow and design your Blossoms!
10. Steam for 10 minutes.
What I learnt:
* I do not think a normal cupcake cup is suitable for this recipe. It is too big even after I bought those mini sized cups hence it turned out dry and hard. I'll use the very mini paper cups in future to make mini ones.
* Cover the steamer top with cloth to prevent water from dripping into the cake during opening.
That's all to this simple recipe guys!
Happy trying it out!!
