Triple Three Buffet

I got attracted to this buffet for a reason. 

FOIE GRAS!

Triple Three at Mandarin Hotel has different themed buffets everyday and Monday is...... 

Foie Gras Frenzy day!! 

So how was the buffet overall...?? 

I have to say spread was not too bad. The normal fancy stuff I guess.

Indian section:

The butter chix and curry was good but Maybe you could ask for freshly made naan or prata. 

They have a variety of garlic, cheese and butter naan but it was darn hard! 

This was cos It's all pre-made! So when I ordered, he just heated it up. Same goes for the prata. 

Dessert Section:

A variety of cakes but nothing in particular that caught my eye. Normal fare indeed. There were macarons but were normal. The ice cream flavours were yuzu, green tea, vanilla, strawberry shorbet and chocolate. Have to say say the vanilla and Green tea mixed together was a nice combi: ) 

Sad to say, I missed the bread and butter pudding!

was the only thing I was looking forward to.

It was only 9+ but they didn't refill the dish! SAD!!!

Seafood:

Seriously, they have some AWESOMELY FRESH oysters!!! 

with their red wine vinegar and wasabi tomato puree (Which didn't have the wasabi taste-yum!) 

Pure heaven! Super fresh and tangy! 

Sashimi and other seafood were nice as it should. 

And last ....... the FOIE GRAS...... 

Indeed worth the $$$!

This was the first time I saw foie gras put on radish! 

And I realise that it's really a good, healthy and interesting way to suck the oil up! 

Usually foie gras is put on bread or whatever western stuff they use, but radish is relli a nice alternative! And It's yummy! 

OK back to the foie gras. It was served in small portions and It's super yummy and not too oily! Thumbs up! ↖(^▽^)↗

Well, I may head back Maybe next time if I'm really really hungry cos I'm not a buffet person. I'd rather eat a particular cuisine than an international buffet. But a foie gras buffet.....  DEF!
And the price....  much more affordable than Basilico, another place that serves foie gras buffet.
If you have a DBS card, there's a promo where two ppl end up eating at $158nett! What a steal!

Oh yes yes... complimentary parking for every $100 spent! Cool max!!

away on sick leave

You might wonder where have I been or have I left the blog....  answer is NO!
I'm still here but away after being sick for 2 days now.

Stomach flu got to me and all I can pray for is not to vomit! Whatever goes in feels like coming out almost immediately.

Lets hope I'll get well and get back to blogging mode soon!

Just have that lil passion for baking and cooking, so if I can cook, Seriously.... so can you!!

I know it sounds funny but I'll look to the Lord in everything I do! And yes yes... I sound like a scaredy cat when it seems like many young ppl have ubdergone this procedure before! Haha.
Seems like u really tend to get more scared the older u get. LOL *^O^*

Loreal Mythic Oil

I've always had a problem with fly-away hair and Unruly hair!
Always dry as ever morning I need to blow dry my hair.
Basically damaged due to all the heat: ((

but a friend introduced the Loreal Mythic Oil and It's the best thing that happened!!

Hair serum looks oily and rich, but after applying, your hands skin not feel oily at all!!
Other hair serums always need us to wash our hands after applying due to oiliness but this..... none at all!! Dry hands after applying!
Shows everything got absorbed in your hair!!
Woootz!!!

And the hair mask......... omg....  silky smoooooooth hair!!!
I put on a shower cap to le it rest for about 5-8 mins before wash off.

And wala! You get nice nice smooth nice smelling hair!

WA & DQ Martini Bar

Bought the Groupon deal with a colleague and we decided to try this place for It's nice food menu.
The deal was $69 for 2pax, exclusive of GST.

So What's on ze menu......

Pan Fried Scallop 

Foie Gras with Grapes

Truffle Mushroom Soup

Duck Confirm OR Cod Fish

Poached Strawberries w Choc Soil

And here they come........!! 

Apparently...... the dishes were from good..... to bad.... ￣︿￣

The appetizers were not to bad. Scallop was pan fried a lil too hard but tasted quite alright. 

Foie Gras was better! Not too oily just that the portion was terribly miserable. oh well..... for that price... no choice ╮(╯_╰)╭

Duck Confit wasn't great. Meat was dry and skin was too soft at some parts. expected it to be crispy and moist but sadly .......no. 

After a not so good main course... I thought the dessert would be nice and sweet.....  but boy was I wrong. The poached strawberries were a lil on the sour side and the choc soil....... was like cocoa powder! Hmmmmm....... wasn't much of a good ending for me. Sigh. 

So all in all, not a very good dining experience I have to say. Not coming back!
