away on sick leave

You might wonder where have I been or have I left the blog....  answer is NO!
I'm still here but away after being sick for 2 days now.

Stomach flu got to me and all I can pray for is not to vomit! Whatever goes in feels like coming out almost immediately.

Lets hope I'll get well and get back to blogging mode soon!

Seems like u really tend to get more scared the older u get. LOL *^O^*

Loreal Mythic Oil

I've always had a problem with fly-away hair and Unruly hair!
Always dry as ever morning I need to blow dry my hair.
Basically damaged due to all the heat: ((

but a friend introduced the Loreal Mythic Oil and It's the best thing that happened!!

Hair serum looks oily and rich, but after applying, your hands skin not feel oily at all!!
Other hair serums always need us to wash our hands after applying due to oiliness but this..... none at all!! Dry hands after applying!
Shows everything got absorbed in your hair!!
Woootz!!!

And the hair mask......... omg....  silky smoooooooth hair!!!
I put on a shower cap to le it rest for about 5-8 mins before wash off.

And wala! You get nice nice smooth nice smelling hair!

WA & DQ Martini Bar

Bought the Groupon deal with a colleague and we decided to try this place for It's nice food menu.
The deal was $69 for 2pax, exclusive of GST.

So What's on ze menu......

Pan Fried Scallop 

Foie Gras with Grapes

Truffle Mushroom Soup

Duck Confirm OR Cod Fish

Poached Strawberries w Choc Soil

And here they come........!! 

Apparently...... the dishes were from good..... to bad.... ￣︿￣

The appetizers were not to bad. Scallop was pan fried a lil too hard but tasted quite alright. 

Foie Gras was better! Not too oily just that the portion was terribly miserable. oh well..... for that price... no choice ╮(╯_╰)╭

Duck Confit wasn't great. Meat was dry and skin was too soft at some parts. expected it to be crispy and moist but sadly .......no. 

After a not so good main course... I thought the dessert would be nice and sweet.....  but boy was I wrong. The poached strawberries were a lil on the sour side and the choc soil....... was like cocoa powder! Hmmmmm....... wasn't much of a good ending for me. Sigh. 

So all in all, not a very good dining experience I have to say. Not coming back!

Teppei Restaurant

And again I was skeptical on how a Japanese Don could make my friend rave about the place on and on and on....
So again.... I just HAD to go try it. And again, NOT DISAPPOINTED!!!
Went for lunch at about 2pm to avoid the long lunch queue as this place only serves walk-ins and only takes dinner reservations.

Thankfully...  we didn't have to queue long to get a seat. Maximum seating for this place is about... 16ppl....?? Somewhat there. It's an open kitchen concept where u eat at the bar facing the kitchen, just like some ramen stalls in Japan.

So what was nice?? they have 1 daily special and they will post their lunch special the night before on facebook.  My friend ordered the Sashimi Don Set and I just ate.... To be Frank... I'm not a fan of sashimi Don, but since I came all the way to tanjong pager for this..... heck it!
I was taken aback by the taste Seriously. everything in that bowl blended so well! The marinade was good and the cuts of sasimi inside were So fresh! I can just taste it know my mouth blogging about it...... *slurp* and yes..... I finished the whole freaking bowl..... darn...
There goes the diet, which I've always talked about...

So how much would u think this meal would cost....??  With fresh and big sashimi cuts?
$28?? $24??
It's only $16! Gosh!

Freaking good fried chix

It was actually skeptical when my colleagues were raving on how good the fried chix rice at lucky plaza was so I just HAD to try it.

And I never regretted or looked back......

It's was amazingly goooooood!
Crispy, tasty, and moist on the inside!
If really doesn't taste dry and OK just like the normal ones...It's just GOOD!

Queue can get pretty long during lunch and they close once the chicken sells out! So better be early for lunch! And their thighs get sold out fast too... so for those who dislike breast meat, early early pls!

Definitely a 4.5/5

A second go at Tim Ho Wan

Seriously till today if I were to queue an hour for Tim Ho Wan... I'll never bother to.
Had a go at it again and lucky me.... no queue at TPY outlet @ 630pm! Wooot!

So I started to oda oda and oda and look guess I ordered a lil too much for two we both ended up freaking bloated!

The branches skin roll I have to sag was yumz! The ingredients in it was alot and the generous sauce was flavourful!

Tried this chilli crab yam fritter for the 2nd time and thought the first time at westgate was nicer. Maybe I was too hungry then =<

OK....... this spicy dumpling was BAD! Only got to know from the cashier that this was new in the menu and It's the 2nd day they were serving it. I really have to say.... for $6 not even worth! not even if it was $3. Skin was thick and insides didn't taste fantastic. Sauce could be better. This is usually a must-have for me during dim sum so I was rather disappointed. 

Prawn CCF usually won't go wrong unless skin is too thick..  but most reasonable places are usually fine. Even hawker prawn CCF for $3 can taste good, so they better do too. 

Read reviews that this Ma Lai Gao is a must-try so we decided to give it a go! Not that bad.... the more you eat it the nicer it gets! Indeed soft and moist and not too sweet =>

and yessssss....  who can give this a miss???  It's so soft and the skin melts when u bite! Yummmzz! 

Lastly..... I love the glutinous rice! And doesn't taste very "jelak" .... but..... I would love some salted egg in it though..... :))

so basically the must-have's are the glutinous rice, baked char siew bun, beancurd skin roll and ma lai gao!

♡valentines 2014♡

Tried a new and simple Valentine's this year and I have to say... "thumbs up!!"
Black Sheep @ Thomson V 2 had a special Valentine's menu and I have to say their food is really good!
Expected normal tasting food at such a location, but it definitely made me think otherwise.

Baked oysters with cheese. Simple and oysters were rather fresh. 

My fav foie gras was well done! Bread was crisp too!

Awesome duck confit! Moist, tender, flavorful!  4/5

Lobster Ragout with seabass. 

Lobster was really fresh and seabass didn't have that distinct fishy smell I hate. The sauce was also lobster bisque! Niceeeeee.

Appearance of the dessert wasn't fantastic but the taste wasn't as bad as it looks!

tiramisu was soft with a good balance of alcohol and coffee but the Pistachio Cake was so-so only. Tasted more like choco cake and a lil dry. But the sorbet was good! Cos It wasn't sour!!!  I'm def not a fan of sourness. 

All in all, great food experience and great service! Service crew was rather efficient and they were attentive to keep replenishing our bread and butter! 

And lastly....  a stalk of rose from the restaurant! Sweeeeeet! 

turning 30....

yes yes, it's no longer the BIG 21! that happened eons ago and now the BIG 3 is coming ...... in 240 days!
but no no, I do not feel old at all! it's gonna be a new phase in life, so stay tuned!
